My Problem With The Popular Corporate Approach

I’ve worked with hundreds of leaders over 20 years.

And I have a problem with the popular corporate approach used to solve these challenges.

Because it is too externally focused.

Too externally focused meaning,
– Focusing only on the observable behaviours of individuals in their professional environment.
– Focusing only on the external processes such as strategies, skills and systems to overcome these challenges.

However, I’ve seen even the most sophisticated strategies, skills training and systems failing to improve behaviours.
And failing to help leaders overcome their personal, team and business challenges.

The reason for that became blatantly obvious as a corporate business development coach.

While training a group of leaders, I noticed that:
– They’d stay stuck in a burnout bounce-back cycle
– Their growth was always capped at a certain level
– Constant training, motivation and even follow-ups didn’t seem to help!

It seemed like there was an invisible force stopping them from overcoming challenges and hitting their goals.

So I did something different.

As an ex-counsellor, I knew the reason wasn’t a lack of productivity but a lack of psychology.

Our corporate approach has to shift its focus from the individual’s external physical environment to the internal psychological environment.

We need to shift our focus from behaviours to beliefs.

Because our set of beliefs a.k.a, the mindset, is the invisible force which drives our behaviours and powers the strategy, skills and systems.
We behave according to our beliefs.

Since I had already started doing this internal work on myself, I knew it worked.

But in corporate culture, anything in your internal environment is pushed into the ‘personal life’ category.

You’re expected to keep personal and professional lives separate. I’ve heard it many times from highly regarded corporate trainers.

So, I crossed that line.

I Did The Internal Work With Leaders

I helped them shift their focus from their external environment to their internal environment.

I had raw and real conversations with ambitious leaders who were repeating the same cycle and hitting the same ceiling.

It involved asking hard questions, giving direct feedback, recognising self-imposed limitations and healing from past wounds.

Most importantly, getting clear on their values and goals.

And finally realising that you can do things your way and still achieve your goals.

It was like realising that all this time, you’ve been trying to get rid of mould on the walls by simply painting over it.

Doing this internal work broke the cycle and raised the ceiling.

How Is My Methodology Unique?

  • Having worked in both mental health as a counsellor and in corporate space as a business development coach, my mindset coaching methodology is influenced by psychotherapy and business coaching. I understand the unique challenges leaders experience from two different angles.
  • I do not practise hypnosis. I work with you on a conscious level. While conditioning methods help you gain temporary relief, I always encourage conscious self-realisation and self-actualisation. This is what creates a mindset that supports consistent behaviour and sustainable growth.
  • The objective of mindset coaching is not just to resolve limiting beliefs so you can think big and win big. We’ll be designing a custom wellness incorporated goal achieving strategy that builds personal-professional life synergy so you can stay sane while pursuing success.
  • I practise what I coach. Beyond the theory, I keep testing my own methods to solve real challenges as a human being and as an entrepreneur. That is the only way I can ethically and confidently work with you.

While I draw guidance and inspiration for my coaching from my former counselling practice, theories and techniques, I do not currently offer counselling.

I offer different options for clients to suit their capacity, whether it’s time, finances or other. PAYG sessions allow you to connect with me without a long-term commitment. And Coaching Programmes are an investment for those who want to expedite their Self-Growth.

All bookings are final. Once paid and booked, I do not offer cancellations, refunds or reschedules for sessions. I take in only a limited number of clients and offer you the best service possible. I appreciate you valuing my time as much as I value yours.
